Lounge
The main lounge has its original inglenook fireplace with an installed wood burner (locally produced waste wood logs available). Night storage heaters are also provided up and downstairs. The lounge also has a small desk for working, a TV/DVD player, comfy sofa's and various board and children's games with a small selection of films and books.
Kitchen
The kitchen come dining room with its original cast iron range has reclaimed parquet, its original tiles, traditional ceramic sink, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave, usb sockets and a night storage storage blow heater. Kitchen equipment, ironing equipment as well as child booster seat and stair gate are also available for use.
Bathroom
The bathroom with its cast iron, tiled bath has a skylight, fitted shower and natural cork floor. Hot water continues to be provided by a small pumped immersion tank which is enough for two showers or one bath (it requires half an hour to reheat between uses). The house is fitted with a mains smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector.
Main Bedroom
The Main larger bedroom has twin double beds (room for a cot or small inflatable child's bed also available) it looks out over the rear garden with sea view to Lundy.
Middle Bedroom
The front facing mid sized bedroom has a slim fold-out double bed when required for two adults with fitted storage for clothes.
Small Bedroom
The small bedroom overlooking the street has a bunk bed & an extra stored mattress if needed.
Outside
The front yard area receives morning sun and the raised garden to the rear evening sun with views over fields to the coast and a clear view of Lundy Island. There is some space for kids to run around and play whilst the adults can enjoy the view. There are steps both front and rear, as well as the steps inside the cottage.
Idle Hours is very much as you see it, we aim to maintain it as an affordable whole cottage rental, re-investing any profits made from letting improve it further as we move forward. We have recently replaced the hotwater tank for greater efficiency and pressure, along with increased insulation and improved heaters allowing better year round use.
